Description

This workshop will provide an introductory overview of the roles and responsibilities of a professional engineer in a construction or other project. Participants will gain insight into how to select the right professional for a project and best practices when working with an engineer to help ensure a project proceeds in a safe and timely manner. There will be time for questions and answers.

Presenter Biographies

Gilbert Larocque is a registered professional engineer in BC and Ontario, and is a member of the Bar of British Columbia. He has over 30 years of engineering experience gained in the fields of aviation, project and program management, construction and building envelope. Mr. Larocque provides guidance and deals with professional and ethical practice-related issues within the professions of engineering and geoscience, including matters of practice that overlap with other professions.

Harshan Radhakrishnan is a registered professional engineer in BC and Alberta and holds a Masters in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto. He previously worked as an Environmental Approval Engineers in the Province of Alberta and for the Alberta Energy Regulator and through Eco-Tec, in the Pickering Nuclear Power Plant’s Boiler Feed Water Treatment Plant as an Operations Coordinator. Mr. Radhakrishnan supports the Professional Practice, Standards and Development Department by providing practice advice, interpretation and guidance to the Association and its members licensees on matters related to the professional and ethical practice of engineering and geoscience in British Columbia.
