This workshop will highlight what financial institutions are looking for when an Aboriginal community, development corporation, or entrepreneur applies to an organization looking for business financing, funding and/or services.
For communities planning on establishing or expanding a community-owned business, this workshop will provide an overview of business funding and financing programs and services available, and will introduce participants to the application process, including providing tips on preparing funding applications, key information to include in your application, how applications are assessed from the perspectives of funders and lenders.

Donna St. Louis is a Business Services Officer from Tale’awtxw Aboriginal Capital Corporation where she provides business support to Aboriginal entrepreneurs. Whether it is for a small home based sole proprietorship or community owned corporation, Donna helps her clients with accessing financing, business planning and after care support.
Stewart Anderson is the Manager of Indigenous Partnerships at Vancity Savings Credit Union and has worked in the financial services sector for the last 20 years. His clients have included First Nation Governments, Aboriginal and First Nation Development Corporations and First Nation / Private Sector joint ventures. He works to broaden and deepen the credit Union’s involvement with Aboriginal communities in and beyond the traditional territory of the Coast Salish People where Vancity is located.
Paul Donald has been the CEO of All Nations Trust Company since 2013. Paul is a member of the Simpcw First Nation; he has 25 years of experience in banking and Aboriginal Economic Development. All Nations Trust Company provides financing for business start-ups, expansions and acquisitions throughout the BC Interior and North.
