Improving Solid Waste Management - RC

Description

The Resource Centre can assist Framework Agreement Signatory First Nations in building meaningful capacity to effectively manage Solid Waste on their Reserve lands. Developing and implementing strategies to avoid and remediate contamination is critical to the health and safety of Indigenous Lands and people. Diversion programs can extend the life of landfills and related infrastructure, reduce operations costs, and can lessen the demand for raw materials through resource recovery and thereby minimizing our reliance on extractive industry. Not only is it a vital aspect of good Environmental Governance but it also plays a key role in Climate change mitigation and adaptation.
