Description
Natural Resource Specialists presents an overview of the timber and aggregate permitting process. The workshop will include an introduction to relevant guidelines and what supporting documents are required to submit timber and aggregate applications. We will discuss:
- the roles and responsibilities of the proponent, ISC, and the Nation;
- royalties and stumpage fees
- post-harvest and reclamation obligations
Participants will learn ISC’s permitting process for timber and aggregate projects on reserve and what supporting documents are required for an application. They will learn how ISC conducts environmental reviews and what supporting documents will be required in the application process. We will discuss:

Speaker Biographies
Alexandre and Terence are Natural Resource Specialists with the Environment and Natural Resources unit in Lands and Economic Development of ISC (BC Region). They both bring years of experience working in the forestry and aggregate industries to our roles at ISC reviewing project applications and issuing permits. They are passionate about supporting Indigenous-led natural resource development projects.
