Description

ISC’s Economic Development Team will provide a detailed overview on how to apply to ISC’s economic development funding programs, which include the Lands Economic Development Services Program, the Community Opportunities Readiness Program and the Community Opportunities Readiness Program-Prioritization Framework. In addition, the ISC Economic Development team will invite First Nation community representatives to share their success stories in getting their economic development projects funded and implemented.

Participants will learn more on project eligibility, and the application and approval processes for Lands and Economic Development Services Program and Community Opportunity Readiness Program. Examples of successful implementation of projects at the community level.

Speaker Biographies

Vanessa Schols joined the Economic Development Unit at Indigenous Services Canada in March of 2020. She is the Economic Development Officer for the Lower Mainland, Thompson and Okanagan regions.

Liam has been with ISC since 2020 and started as a Funding Officer and joined Lands and Economic Development in 2022. Liam has worked with various government agencies from Corrections, BC Government (WorkSafeBC), and Veteran Affairs. Prior to working with the federal government Liam has a business background and his specialization was in franchising.
