Presenting Organization
First Nations Land Management Resource Centre / Indigenous Services Canada
Description
Environmental assessments are an important component of every development project on First Nation lands. This workshop will explore how the Framework Agreement on First Nation Land Management supports First Nation jurisdiction to develop their own environmental assessment requirements for lands under a land code and what that means for project managers and developers.
Workshop participants will also learn about federal assessment requirements and have an opportunity to discuss how a First Nation’s environmental assessment process can be harmonized with other government processes.
