Using GIS to Support Land Use Planning
First Nations Land Management Resource Centre
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a powerful tool for land governance. This workshop explores how GIS can be used to assist in land use planning and solid waste management. During this session, we will demonstrate how GIS data can be used to create maps for land development, land use planning, and environmental management planning. Topics include community engagement, waste system site selection, dealing with solid waste legacy issues, and environmental monitoring.
